The Puyuan Fashion Centre in Tongxiang, Zhejiang, has installed 11 AI fitting mirrors linked to the products of 200 merchants, China News Service reported on November 2. Wholesale stalls have no fitting rooms, so buyers see different sweaters “worn” in real time as they move in front of the mirror. One merchant says he has 300 styles in store and at least 600 in the system.

Puyuan is China’s largest woollen sweater distribution centre, with business above 100 billion yuan for seven years running. In 2025 it reached 139.3 billion yuan (+6.2%). From January to September 2026, the cluster’s export activity grew 82%, the report says, with 178 export-only registered firms and 254 overseas clients on the export platform, which offers customs clearance, tax rebates, overseas warehousing and promotion.

The “Puyuan Maoshan” digital platform covers 72 countries and more than 1,000 retailers; since its international version launched this year, more than 5 million garments have shipped abroad. Huigang Fashion (汇港), exhibiting at the Canton Fair, opened a 100-million-yuan smart factory and sells to Italy, France and Germany.

CSP take: the cluster is building the infrastructure to sell directly to foreign retailers. Knitwear importers should compare platform prices with agents’ and use a Puyuan visit to validate yarn and finishing. This reading is ours, not the source’s.
