China’s leading packaging paper maker raises corrugating medium prices for November
Nine Dragons announced 30–50 yuan per tonne increases at four bases. Waste paper, coal and chemicals are dearer.

Nine Dragons Paper, China’s leading packaging paper maker, announced on October 29 increases of 30 to 50 yuan per tonne for corrugating medium and recycled kraft at its Dongguan, Taicang, Quanzhou and Chongqing bases from early November, Guandian reported. Earlier, its Leshan base had announced a 50-yuan rise from October 26, 100ppi said.
In its Leshan base notice, the company cited continued increases in waste paper, coal, chemical inputs and other costs. According to Guandian, the market expects other mills to follow Nine Dragons and costs for board and packaging companies to rise.
CSP take: the increase is small per tonne but reaches suppliers of consumer goods, electronics and food that pack in corrugated board. Importers should ask suppliers to separate packaging from product price in quotes so each can be negotiated. This reading is ours, not the sources’.
